TiviMate on an LG TV? Here’s the alternative

If you move from an Android stick to an LG TV, TiviMate is often the first app you look for. It isn’t in the LG Content Store. Here’s why – and how to watch your playlist directly on your LG TV anyway.

Nightdeck is a player only. It contains no channels, movies or shows and doesn’t arrange providers. Only use it with sources you’re entitled to – for example cable TV through your own tvheadend server, your own media server or a licensed service you pay for.

Is TiviMate available for LG webOS?

No. TiviMate is an app for Android TV devices and is distributed through Google Play. LG TVs run webOS, a separate operating system. Android apps can’t be installed or sideloaded there, and TiviMate isn’t available in the LG Content Store (as of September 2026).

That leaves two options: plug a streaming stick with Android TV, Google TV or Fire OS into your TV – or use an IPTV player built for webOS itself. Nightdeck is one.

Nightdeck runs as a native app on LG TVs with webOS 4 or newer, i.e. 2018 models and later. No extra stick, no second remote, no free HDMI port needed. Coming soon to the LG Content Store.

Your playlist comes along

Nightdeck uses the same kinds of logins you know from other IPTV players: an Xtream Codes login (server address, username, password) or an M3U/M3U8 playlist via link, plus an optional TV guide in XMLTV format, also compressed as .gz. You get these details from your provider or your own server – they aren’t tied to a particular app.

Nightdeck doesn’t import favourites, sort orders or settings from other apps. You set up favourites again; they’re stored per playlist on the TV.

Step by step

  1. Install Nightdeck

    Open the LG Content Store on your TV and install Nightdeck. You need webOS 4 or newer.

  2. Choose the login type

    On first launch you’ll see “New playlist”. Choose “Xtream login” or “M3U playlist” at the top.

  3. Enter your details

    For Xtream: server address, username and password. For M3U: the playlist address and, if you have one, the TV guide address (XMLTV). If you leave it empty, Nightdeck uses the one from the playlist.

  4. Connect

    “Connect” checks the login and loads channels, movies and shows. You’ll then find everything under Live TV, in the TV Guide and on the home screen.

  5. Try first, then decide

    The first 3 days are free and fully unlocked, with no account and no payment details. After that Nightdeck costs €10.00 per year or €29.99 once, for up to 2 devices.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install TiviMate on an LG TV?

No. LG TVs use webOS, and TiviMate is an Android app. The only way is via a connected device with Android TV, Google TV or Fire OS.

Will my current playlist work in Nightdeck?

If it’s an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist with a link, yes – those are general formats. Portals that log in with a MAC address aren’t supported.

Which LG TVs are supported?

TVs with webOS 4 or newer, which means LG models from 2018 on.

Is Nightdeck available for other devices?

Yes, Nightdeck is also built for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV with Fire OS, Mac and Windows. One licence covers up to 2 devices in your household, mixed platforms allowed. See the current status under How to get Nightdeck.

Are channels or movies included?

No. Nightdeck is a player only. You need your own source that you’re entitled to use.
