When Smart IPTV is a good fit
If you only need one device and want a low one-time price. According to the developer, Smart IPTV also runs on Samsung TVs with Tizen and on MAG boxes, and there is an older app version for older LG models. You can also upload playlists as a file.
When Nightdeck is a good fit
- You want to enter your playlist directly on the TV or from your phone, without uploading it on a website.
- You have an Xtream Codes login and want to enter it with username and password.
- You use two devices, e.g. TV and Mac or Fire TV: one licence covers up to 2 devices, mixed platforms allowed.
- You want an interface like the big streaming services, with Continue watching, recommendations and “Tonight”.
- You want the interface in your language: Nightdeck comes in 24 languages.
What Nightdeck doesn’t do: RTSP streams, portals that log in with a MAC address (Stalker) and playlist files without a link. Samsung TVs are in preparation.

Do I need my TV’s MAC address for Nightdeck?
No. You unlock Nightdeck with the licence key from your purchase confirmation, or by scanning the QR code under Settings → Licence in the app with your phone. One licence covers up to 2 devices.
Can I use my Smart IPTV playlist in Nightdeck?
If you have it as a link in M3U or M3U8 format, yes: enter the link under “M3U playlist” in Nightdeck. If you have an Xtream Codes login, use “Xtream login”.
Is Nightdeck in the LG Content Store yet?
